My full name is Kara Ann Renz, and I was born on April 3, 2001. I am an only child! I take lots of pride in my Sicilian-Italian heritage (so much that I ignore the fact that I am also German and Belgian).
My favorite university is the University of Notre Dame. My dad had graduated from there in May of 2001, and my first trip to the campus was for that occasion. I continue to visit the campus very often, and it is my goal to study pre-med, after high school.
I started band in the fifth grade, and I have played my trumpet for almost 5 years. I chose the trumpet because of the song "You Should be Dancing" by the BeeGees. I loved how it sounded, and I told myself that someday I would play that song.
Aside from band, I am currently involved in volleyball and cheerleading. I have been involved in cheerleading since I was very young, and it is my favorite activity. I love learning new dances, and cheering on our teams. My favorite parts of home basketball games are forming a tunnel before the game, and lining up with the team during the team introductions. I would love to continue cheering throughout college, if that's a possibility.
In school, my favorite subjects are Geography and Business. I enjoy learning about different places and cultures. I also like understanding how much goes in to creating and running a business. My absolute least favorite subject is History. I understand that we should learn about how much times have changed, but I lose all focus almost immediately.
In the fifth grade, my parents were in the process of getting divorced. This was very difficult for me, especially since I couldn't find anyone to lean on. At that point, I had started to wish that I had a sibling so that I could find some sort of comfort. I still wish that I had a sibling, but I know that it isn't a possibility.
